Chewy M&M’s Cookies

This brilliantly epic cookie will make you feel good when you need it or when you don’t need it. It’s just that good. No need to forage the local stores to find mediocre versions. You are in control!

The Ingredients

  • 2 cups + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¾ cup golden brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 heaping cup milk
  • chocolate M&M’s

The Recipe

  1. Sift the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Then set it aside.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a sauce pan or microwave and pour it into a bowl.
  3. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the butter along with the vanilla extract. Mix that together using an electric hand mixer. Make sure to beat it well.
  4. Add the room temperature egg and egg yolk and beat them in.
  5. Add in the dry ingredients and gently mix on low speed. Then gradually pick up the speed and mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Lastly, mix in the M&M’s.
  6. Scoop out and roll the cookie dough. Place even sized cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 5 centimeter apart.
    PRO TIP: add a few extra M&M’s for a more colorful cookie.
  7. Cover and chill your dough for about 2 hours. If you want flatter cookies, don’t chill the dough.
  8. Bake at 175 °C for about 12 min. The centers will look a little under-baked but don’t worry, they will continue to bake even after you take them out of the oven.
  9. Let them sit on the baking sheet for about 5 min before transferring them to a cooling rack.
